Take a Few Steps Before You Walk
Step 1: Register Today.
Fill out the
Registration Form online. You will receive MS Walk updates,
detailed information, and a pledge sheet.
Step 2: Request Contributions.
Start collecting today. To walk, you must collect contributions,
and it is a good idea to begin today. How much should you raise?
Each walker raises an average of $125, but there is no limit to what you
can accomplish. Top fund-raisers win awesome prizes, including a
vacation getaway, and you will sent information on how to make
fund-raising easy.
Step 3: Spread the Word About New
Ways to Fight MS. Thanks to significant advances in research, the FDA
has approved several treatments that may alter the underlying disease
course of multiple sclerosis, and early treatment is critically important.
People with MS should consult their doctors about using one of these
FDA-approved medications and other effective treatments for the symptoms
of MS. If you or someone you know has MS, contact the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society at 1-800-FIGHT MS or
info@gatewaymssociety.org.
Step 4: Collect Contributions.
Collecting contributions from your sponsors when they sign your
contribution form will save you time and add to the enjoyment of
fund-raising. On the day of the MS Walk, turn in your contributions.
To be eligible for prizes, be sure to give your
contributions to the National MS Society no later than October 15, 2005.
Step 5: Come to the MS Walk! The event is
held rain or shine. Lace up your walking shoes, grab your
contributions and form and come enjoy the day!
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is the only
national voluntary MS organization that meets the standards of all major
agencies that rate non-profit groups.
